Zany Zoo is a cute new stamp set, actually it is a bundle, in the brand new 2023 -2024 Annual Catalog from Stampin’ Up!. I needed a masculine card for this months Tech4Stampers blog hop so I chose to use Zany Zoo. I used the alligator because he so cute.
The card base is a new in-color called Copper Clay. The green panel is also a new core color Lemon Lime Twist. I embossed this 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel with one of the embossing folders from the on-line exclusives ( wish SU had given them names). The frame is cut by using two of the Countryside Corners dies. The white inside was die cut from the larger of the two in Basic White. I trimmed it a little so it did not show behind the frame. Before I glued them together, I used a small blending brush to put some Copper Clay ink on the bottom of the panel to look like dirt. I stamped the alligator on Basic White with Memento Black ink and colored it with blends. Since I do not have the Lemon Lime Twist stampin blend yet, I used the dark Granny Apple Green (my light is all dry) to color the gator. I lightened up some spots with the color lifter. The flowers are Calypso Coral, the tires are black, the basket is Pebble Path and the frame is Gray Granite. I used the Zany Zoo dies to cut out the gator and also some tress in Garden Green. Next I put it all together. The gator and the frame are on dimensionals. I thought I was finished and started to stamp a message inside and managed to put an edge of my card in the ink pad. Rather than start over, I decided to add the circle over my mess. I stamped the sentiment in black Memento ink and used the circle from the Radiating Stitches dies ( an on-line exclusive set) to die cut my circle. I placed it with dimensionals over my booboo.
I think this card could be sent to guy of any age especially if he a gator fan. (University of FL fan for all you that are wondering – not me for sure).
Hope you like him – check out the other critters in this set.
