I just love these colors that were put together for the Paper Players color challenge for this week. They are Lost Lagoon, Lemon Lolly and any neutral. I was inspired by a card created by Mary Fish. I cased her design but used all my own colors and sentiment. Here is the Paper Players site so you can see all the lovely creations by some very talented folks, just click on the picture.
The Lost Lagoon is a returning color from the past and Lemon Lolly is a bright new color. I chose the Dainty Delight stamp set and dies for my card. This set carried over from last year so it is no longer a bundle. Glad I got it while it was a bundle because it saved me 10%. During the month of June you too can save money on your purchases. - My card base is Lost Lagoon cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.
- The next layer is one of my neutrals, Crumb Cake, cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″and attached to card front.
- Bright and Beautiful is the DSP that I chose because it has such pretty colors. I picked the Lemon Lolly striped paper and cut to 1 1/4″ x 4 3/4″. I glued this to the card front.
- Next I die cut the leaf layer in Crumb Cake using the Dainty Delight dies.
- Using the flower die and centers, I die cut three flowers in Lemon Lolly and three centers from Basic White. I glued the centers on the flowers and attached them to my card with Glue Dots.
- I stamped the sentiment from the Dainty Delights stamp set in Lost Lagoon. I used a die from the Countryside Corners to cut out my sentiment.
- I made a small bow from linen thread and attached it along with the sentiment piece to the card front using dimensionals.
I really like your card, Diane! Using the lost lagoon color as the primary element works very well when combined with the pale yellow, white, and kraft. Thank you for sharing it with us at The Paper Players.
Xoxo, Fran
Thank you so much Fran!
Very nicely done! I love the crumb cake in the background as well as for the leaves…gives it a lovely organic tone! Pretty flowers, great sentiment! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Players this week!
Thank you, LeAnne, so much for your detailed comments.
Diane your daisies look wonderful against the Lost Lagoon panel and the earthy tones of the Crumb Cake compliment the fresh lemon/lagoon colour combo beautifully too. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
Thank you so much for your kind comments Joanne!
