Festive is the theme for this month’s Teach4Stampers Blog Hop. What is more festive than a Christmas card? I cased a card from the current Mini Catalog on page 21. I stamped my sentiment on card stock instead of the vellum. I tried the vellum but did not like the look on my card. I used the Handcrafted Elements dies to make the background for my card. These dies are a stand alone set that you may have missed. Check them out on page 21 of the mini catalog. There are a couple of Christmas dies in this set but the others can be used for any occasion.
These are the steps to create my card.
- Cut Crumb Cake to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″ and fold.
- Cut Crumb Cake to 5″ x 3 3/4″.
- Die cut 10 ovals using the die from Handcrafted Elements in Crumb Cake.
- Arrange and attach these ovals to the Crumb Cake piece from #2. trim to fit.
- Cut a Garden Green and Crumb Cake from the die Christmas Classics.
- Die cut the red piece from the Joyful Designer Series Paper and attach it to the Garden Green die cut.
- Trim the Crumb Cake die cut to fit over the Garden Green die cut. Attach to the card front using dimensionals.
- Stamp the sentiment on a small piece of Garden Green with Versamark (use embossing buddy first). Put white embossing powder on it and heat. Cut it to size and attach with dimensionals.
- Embellish with Brushed Metallic gems.
