Yesterday’s post told you about a challenge that Stampin’ Up! is doing during February. If you missed it, you can see it here. My first card is created using the Softly Sophisticated stamp set from the Sale-a-bration brochure. I am sorry that my picture is a little fuzzy. I have even photographed it again and still fuzzy. What makes it even worse is the one on the right is perfect. Go figure! The background is Tahitian Tide – which will be retiring in May. I cut a separate piece for the front which I embossed with the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder also available in the SAB brochure. Next I die cut a piece of Basic White using the Thoughtful Expressions Dies. I stamped the leaves in Parakeet Party (also retiring in May), the leaves in Highland Heather and the sentiment in Tahitian Tide. I added some bling and attached it to the card front with Dimensionals.
My second card uses a color combination that I would never have selected to go together – Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lolly, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sorbet. MY card base is Pumpkin Pie. The next layer is also Pumpkin Pie cut to 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″. I randomly stamped the honeycombs in Pumpkin Pie ink and attached it to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the bee body in Flirty Flamingo and the stripes in Sweet Sorbet. I stamped the wings on Lemon Lolly with Lemon Lolly ink. The antennae were stamped with Sweet Sorbet.they were punched out with the Bee Builder Punch. I attached these pieces together and attached them with Dimensionals to a piece of Basic White die cut with the Nested Essentials Dies. I stamped the sentiment and some hearts with Pumpkin Pie. (stamp before adding the bee). This piece was attached to the card front.
Both of these cards were quick and simple to create. My inspiration for both came from the catalogs. The first card inspiration is on page 14 of the SAB brochure and the second card from page 10 of the mini catalog. Don’t forget to use your catalogs for card inspiration.
