Sorry it has been awhile since my last post. My family has three birthdays in August so that has kept me busy creating cards and of course there was the prep work for stamping classes in August. I went to Columbia last weekend to help my oldest grandson move into his dorm at the University of South Carolina which is where I graduated many years ago. The campus is sooooo much bigger now. He kept saying he was in one of the older dorms (it was not there when I attended lol!). All the ones that I lived in are still there and used as dorms. Here he is in his dorm room.
Also as many of you know, my husband was in a vehicle accident in November 2020 and has a spinal cord injury and has to use a wheelchair. He has progressed to where he will be able to drive soon. I have been driving him to his classes that are about 1 1/2 hours away. He has to take 8 hours of classes and then take the driving test with hand controls. I would be freaking out if I had to take that test again. We have both been driving legally since we were 14. We grew up in SC and they still let you drive at 15 1/2. Well, I tell you that because I have not had much time for my blog. While waiting I have been trying to learn how to add a feature to my blog. It is not going well right now. Hopefully my mentor can straighten it out for me.
Well now back to my card! I am loving the Trucking Along bundle. I was lucky to have snagged one of the punches. You can get it again in October but you can also fussy cut the image. The card base is Blueberry Bushel cut 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. The next layer is from the Bright & Beautiful DSP cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″. The star DSP is from the same pack and is cut to 2″ x 5 1/4″. The three flagged pieces are Lemon Lime Twist and Lemon Lolly. The truck was stamped on a scrap of Basic White using Basic Black and Blueberry Bushel and punched out with the truck punch.
The inside of the card follows:
I made another version of the original card for my husbands PT person. He is a runner so I put a black shiny runner on his card. The happy birthday is from the Best Family Ever stamp set.
