I came across a beautiful card on Pinterest and was inspired to recreate it. I made a few changes to the front of the card, but otherwise, I followed the original card. I used the Perennial Lavender suite from the Mini Catalog to create this card during my February classes, and it was a hit with everyone. Some items from this suite have been unavailable due to high demand, such as the dies, but right now all is available. The inspirational card that I cased was made by Tara Carpenter. The hardest part of the card is cutting out the pieces – it is a simple card to put together.

  1. Start with a piece of Gorgeous Grape cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. Also cut Gorgeous Grape 3″ x 9″ scored at 3″ and 6″.
  2. Next comes the Pretty Peacock cardstock. You will need 6 pieces – 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, 4 1/8″ x 2 5/8″ cut 2, 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ cut 3.
  3. The DSP is next cut 4″ x 5 1/4″, 4″ x 2 1/2″ cut 2, and 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ cut 2.
  4. Basic White 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
  5. Using the Painted Lavender Dies cut 2 leaves and 1 flower. I used Soft Shimmer for the leaves and Gorgeous Grape for the flower.
  6. Attach all the DSP to the card base and the small Gorgeous Grape Insert.
  7. On the Basic White square stamp the sentiment and the flowers in Gorgeous Grape. Attach to small strip.
  8. Stamp the sentiment using Gorgeous Grape on a scrap of Basic White. Die cut using the Perennial Postage dies. Arrange the die cut flowers on the first panel of the small strip and glue. Attach the sentiment using dimensionals.
  9. Attach the right hand end of the small strip to the center of the large DSP piece. Fold the card shut. Put adhesive on the back of the left side of the small strip. Shut the card and press the piece down firmly.
  10. Add some purple fine shimmer gems.

If you have any questions on my card, please ask. I started this post over a month ago but did not get it posted. Sorry for the delay but my husband has been in the hospital and rehab for about a month. Needless to say I did not get much time for blogging. I did hold my March classes and will have them again April. If you are local, I would love to have you attend.
